Milan Roganovic joins Genk after making 69 first-team appearances for Partizan

Partizan and Genk reached an agreement for the transfer of Milan Roganovic to the Belgian club. Partizan retained a percentage of a future sale. The right-back, born in 2005, developed through the Partizan academy and Teleoptik before becoming a regular senior player. He leaves with 69 official first-team appearances and seven assists, as well as experience with the Montenegro national team.

The move follows a clear path from the academy to the first team

Roganovic did not move directly from youth football to an overseas contract. He passed through Partizan's academy, continued at Teleoptik and then earned a regular place in the senior squad. That sequence matters because each level adds a different demand. Youth matches develop technique and habits, Teleoptik provides adult competition, and Partizan's first team adds pressure around results. His move to Genk is therefore the next stage of a path already tested in official senior football, not a projection based only on academy promise.

Sixty-nine appearances show his first-team experience

A young defender can look convincing in a short run and still need time to show reliability across a season. Roganovic's 69 official matches give Genk more evidence about his positioning, recovery and response to difficult fixtures. Seven assists also show that his contribution was not limited to defending the touchline. The figures should not be turned into a scoring rate expected in Belgium, because a new team uses full-backs differently. Genk offers a new tactical and cultural test

The future-sale clause preserves Partizan's financial interest

Partizan retained a share of a future transfer, according to the club announcement. This does not guarantee another payment, because it depends on Genk selling the player under the relevant conditions. It does align Partizan with Roganovic's continued progress. If his value rises and another club later completes a transfer, the academy club can benefit again. The announcement did not publish the precise percentage, so a possible future payment cannot yet be calculated. For now, only the existence of the clause is confirmed.

Partizan must now redistribute the right-back workload

A departure removes more than one name from the squad list. The coaching staff have to decide who covers Roganovic's minutes, who provides width when the right side attacks and which player is trusted in matches with more defensive pressure. An internal replacement may already know the team's movements but have less senior experience. A new signing would face adaptation of his own. The solution can also change by opponent. Partizan do not need one player to copy every part of Roganovic's role if the structure distributes those tasks differently.

His international experience adds another reference point

Roganovic has become a Montenegro international, giving him experience outside his club environment. International football can require quick adaptation because preparation time is shorter and teammates come from different systems. That does not automatically secure a place at Genk, but it shows that he has already worked under more than one tactical plan. Club and national-team records must remain separate when statistics are updated. The 69 appearances and seven assists belong to Partizan, while Montenegro matches describe a different competition and responsibility.
