Nikola Jovović
Nikola Jovović is a Serbian setter and a long-standing member of the senior national volleyball team.
Born in Novi Sad, Jovović developed as a setter in a position that connects every first contact with the attack. His work begins before the ball reaches him. He reads the quality of reception, checks the opposing block and moves early enough to keep several teammates available. A precise set matters, but the larger task is to give Serbia a stable attacking structure under changing pressure.
Jovović has represented Serbia across major international tournaments and has worked with different generations of attackers. That experience helps him recognize when a teammate needs a faster ball, a higher margin or a simple repeat of the previous successful pattern. The setter also communicates blocking and defensive information between rallies, turning observation into a short instruction the whole group can use.
His role in the European Championship squad is shared with Aleksa Batak. Competition between two setters gives the coach a tactical option and protects the team during a compact schedule. Jovović's value lies in calm decisions, accurate movement and the ability to keep all attacking positions involved rather than relying on one scorer through every rotation.
