Serbian boxing could soon receive one of its most important infrastructure projects in recent decades. A modern “House of Boxing”, officially planned as a National Boxing Training Center, is set to be built in Belgrade, with an estimated value of around 500 million dinars.
The project is expected to become a major step forward for the development of boxing in Serbia, especially at a time when a new generation of Serbian fighters is increasingly announcing the return of the sport to the big stage. Among the promising names are Omer Ametović, Almir Memić, Jovan Nikolić, Rastko Simić, Sara Ćirković, Anđela Branković, Nikolina Gajić, Nikolina Džida, Dragana Jovanović and many others.
National Boxing Center in New Belgrade
According to the plans of the Boxing Federation of Serbia, the National Boxing Training Center will be built in New Belgrade, in Dr Ivana Ribara Street. The urban design project was prepared by the Belgrade-based bureau “Pro 19”, while the complex is planned to have a ground floor and two upper floors.
The maximum deadline for the completion of construction works is set at 400 calendar days, while the final deadline for submitting applications on the Public Procurement Portal is February 5, 2026. A public presentation of the project is scheduled for February 20, marking another important step toward the realization of the “House of Boxing”.
Complex of More Than 7,000 Square Meters
The future national center of Serbian boxing is planned to cover a total gross area of 7,257 square meters. The complex will consist of two main buildings, designed as a unified functional and aesthetic whole.
The first building will serve training and competition purposes. With a gross area of 5,569 square meters and a connecting heated passage, it will be intended for daily preparations of boxers as well as for hosting national and international competitions.
The second building will be used for accommodation. It will function as a lodging facility for youth and athletes, with a gross area of 1,688 square meters, allowing competitors, coaching staff and support teams to stay at the complex during training camps and sporting events.
Major Boost for the Future of Serbian Boxing
The planned “House of Boxing” is envisioned as a standalone sports facility specialized for top-level training, competitions and the development of young boxers. The location is situated in a multi-family residential zone, with nearby commercial facilities, while the entire complex is expected to meet the modern requirements of professional sport.
The construction of such a center could significantly improve working conditions in Serbian boxing in the long term. Talented athletes would gain access to better infrastructure, higher-quality preparations and a dedicated space capable of supporting the demands of modern boxing.
If the project is completed according to plan, the “House of Boxing” could become the central hub for Serbian boxers and an important base for creating future champions.
