The 180th Eternal Derby: South Stand ticket rules and an early-arrival warning for supporters

The 180th Eternal Derby: South Stand ticket rules and an early-arrival warning for supporters
Football 💬 Comments

Red Star and Partizan meet in the 180th Eternal Derby at the Rajko Mitic Stadium on Sunday, 6 September, at 19:00. The clubs have issued separate practical notices for their supporters. Partizan fans can buy tickets only for the South Stand through the announced away allocation, while Red Star has asked every home supporter to arrive early and follow the temporary movement restrictions around the West and South stands.

Partizan's sale uses one stand and one controlled channel

The away allocation is for the South Stand. Tickets cost 600 dinars and are sold at the Partizan Stadium ticket office. The announced opening hours are 10:00 to 17:00 on Friday and Saturday, followed by a match-day sale from noon until kick-off. One person can buy no more than four tickets and must show an identity document. These conditions matter because a supporter cannot treat a home-sector listing or an unofficial resale offer as an alternative away ticket. The name of the stand, the point of sale and the limit should all match the club notice before money changes hands.

Every visitor needs an individual ticket

Red Star's notice says that every person entering the stadium needs a ticket, regardless of age. A family should therefore not assume that a small child can pass through the turnstile on an adult's document. Tickets and identification should be prepared before reaching the front of the queue. Supporters should also check that the sector printed on the ticket matches the entrance they intend to use. Trying to cross from one side of the stadium after security zones are active can lead to a long walk or a missed start.

The route between the West and South sides will be closed

The passage from the West Stand area toward the South, and the reverse route, will be unavailable while away supporters are arriving. This is a crowd-management measure, not a change to the match ticket itself. Home fans should approach from the side that serves their printed sector and avoid using the South as a shortcut. Partizan supporters should follow the away-fan route and the instructions of stewards and police. The safest plan is to choose the arrival point before travelling rather than improvise at the perimeter.

Early arrival solves more than one problem

The home club has asked supporters to come early because the derby produces heavier traffic, longer checks and denser queues than an ordinary league fixture. An early arrival leaves time for ticket inspection, security control and finding the correct block without running. It also reduces pressure near the turnstiles immediately before kick-off. A supporter carrying a bag should review the stadium rules in advance, as an item rejected at the gate can require a return trip. Public transport changes and road closures should be checked on the day of the match.

The sporting context should not be confused with access information

The two notices are about attendance and safety. They do not predict a winner, confirm a starting lineup or change the scheduled competition result. Team news can move before kick-off, while the ticket and route rules remain the practical basis for entering the ground. Readers should be cautious with social posts that mix an old derby photo, an unconfirmed lineup and a current ticket claim. The official club pages are the correct reference for late access changes.

A simple match-day checklist prevents avoidable delays

Before leaving, each supporter should have the correct ticket, a valid identity document when required, the chosen stadium approach and enough time for control points. Partizan fans using the away sale should keep the four-ticket limit in mind. Red Star supporters in the West should not plan to reach their entrance through the South-side corridor. Friends seated in different sectors should arrange to meet outside the restricted perimeter, not inside it. Once at the stadium, instructions from stewards take priority over a route saved earlier on a phone.
