Serbia has named thirteen athletes for the European Championships in Birmingham. The group contains nine women and four men. It covers jumps, throws, hurdles, sprints and race walking.

Ivana Spanovic, Angelina Topic and Adriana Vilagos provide major championship experience. Milica Gardasevic and Aleksandrija Mitrovic add further strength in the jumps. Armin Sinancevic leads the men's throwing group.

The championships run from August 10 to August 16. Serbia enters several athletes with strong national results from the summer. The final team also includes younger competitors gaining senior experience.

The women's group covers several disciplines

Spanovic and Gardasevic give Serbia two experienced long jump options. Spanovic also has major titles across indoor and outdoor championships. Gardasevic arrives after another successful national season.

Topic represents Serbia in the high jump after a strong return to competition. Her technique and calm approach have produced medals at major events. Birmingham adds another senior championship to that record.

Vilagos and Marija Vucenovic form the women's javelin entry. Vilagos has continued improving her Serbian records and international results. Vucenovic adds experience from many European competitions.

Mitrovic enters the triple jump after reaching 13.73 metres at the Serbian championships. The performance placed her close to Spanovic's winning mark. It also confirmed her current competitive form.

Milica Emini runs the 100-metre hurdles, while Aleksandra Pesic enters the 400 metres. Mina Stankovic represents Serbia in the half-marathon race walk. Together, the nine women cover seven events.

The championships take place at Alexander Stadium and run for seven days. Serbia's entry spreads across both track and field events. Spanovic, Topic and Vilagos bring medals from major competitions. Mitrovic, Gardasevic and the younger selections add current domestic form to the same group.

Sinancevic leads a varied men's selection

Armin Sinancevic brings international shot put experience to the men's group. He has competed in major finals and understands qualification pressure. His event remains one of Serbia's established strengths.

Luka Boskovic represents Serbia in the men's long jump. He secured his place through the entry standard. Birmingham adds a senior European championship to his recent international record.

Mihajlo Katanic enters the 400-metre hurdles. Darijo Basic Palkovic runs the 200 metres. Their selections add two track events to the men's programme.

The four men therefore cover shot put, long jump, hurdles and sprinting. Every selected athlete has one confirmed event. The group is smaller than the women's selection but remains varied.

Standards and rankings shaped the final list

Five Serbian athletes reached the direct entry standards before the final list. They were Spanovic, Topic, Vilagos, Marija Vucenovic and Luka Boskovic. The remaining places came through European ranking positions.

Running events accepted athletes placed among the leading thirty-six eligible entries. Technical events used a smaller ranking field of thirty. Those limits made every late-season result important.

Mitrovic strengthened her triple jump position during the Serbian season. Gardasevic added another long jump entry. Both join Spanovic in a strong group of Serbian horizontal jumpers.

The final selection combines direct standards and ranking places. It contains experienced championship medal winners and younger senior competitors. Every name entered through published qualification rules.

Acting head coach Zeljko Obradovic announced the complete group on August 1. He avoided setting a public medal target. The final list instead defines Serbia's events and confirmed entries.

Birmingham presents a full week of competition

The programme runs across seven days and contains morning and evening sessions. Qualification rounds often occur well before a final. The schedule requires careful warm-ups and recovery.

Large jumping and throwing fields use separate qualification groups. A required mark or leading position secures progress. The exact task changes with each event and field size.

The sprint and hurdle events use heats before the later rounds. Pesic, Emini, Basic Palkovic and Katanic start their programmes on the track. Mina Stankovic competes in the road race walk.

The team includes established medal winners and first-time senior participants. That mix creates several different goals without changing the common national entry. Every result contributes to Serbia's overall championship record.

Thirteen athletes now hold confirmed places in the Birmingham team. The selection spans both genders and eleven disciplines. Serbia has its greatest depth in the women's technical events.

The seven-day timetable includes qualification rounds before most finals. Jumpers and throwers first record a valid mark in their opening group. Track events use heats before later rounds. The confirmed list assigns every Serbian athlete to a specific event.
